MY STORY

At The Rush, the idea that success leads to further success becomes a rewarding reality for so many of our members. We invite you to read their stories, told in their own words. We believe that you will be inspired; learn that change is possible; discover that fun and fitness do belong
together; and that where you work out does make a difference.

Has working out at the Rush impacted you in a positive way?  Have you had a great experience with one of the Rush Team members that you would like to brag about? Let us know at mystory@therush247.com.

Your story just may be the spark someone out there needed to make a change for the better!

ROSE-MARIE VIEIERA: "Almost a year ago, I posted this story on my Facebook page as well as sent it in to the corporate office of the Rush online. I had heard that the letter was read out loud to managers at a regional meeting not long after. Well, the update to this is that I have now lost 50+ pounds in the last year.

JIM POTTER: "I am a 64 year old disabled Veteran. I joined The Rush in Feb. 2011. I began working out with a Fitness Trainer (Cody Walker)  on March 3, 2011. My goals were to loss down to 200 lbs. within 2 Years, help my blood sugar, tone body and relieve some of my pain."

LENORE COLEMAN:
"I attend The Rush on N. Main Street in High Point, NC where I have been a member for 3 years. I have struggled with my weight since the birth of my oldest son who was born in 1994.  At my heaviest I weighed 232 lbs.   The Summer of 2009 was a very difficult year for my family and me.  Due to the overwhelming stress of that summer..."
THE CAMACHOS: "We joined the Rush in July 2010 as the next step to getting healthier. We come into the gym about three time a week faithfully. One of our favorite classes is The Rush Ride. Erin and Tony are wonderful trainers that know how to make you want to do your best. We have also enjoyed our training sessions with Zach. You definitely get to do something..."
MELVYN DOUGLAS JONES: "I joined the Rush in Dalton, GA in June and signed up for  work out session with Chris Hunsucker. At age 55 weighing 272# with a BMI 49% and sitting behind a desk all day long I was getting no exercise except for playing Golf one day a week. After my first session with Chris I knew that my body was a wreck and I was thinking that Chris may have signed..."
ELLIS AND PRISCILLA HILL: "We would just like to let you know how much we are enjoying our membership at Rush Fitness Center in Lenoir City. Being a Rush member has been so much more than we ever thought it would be. We try to use a Fitness Trainer at least twice a week.  Our trainer is Gabe Rios. I chose him because of his friendly personality..."

KENNETH NALL:
"On October 30th 2010, my wife took me into the RUSH and had me sign up. I got sessions with the trainer that she had when she first joined the RUSH in February of 2010 (Dustin Lucas). When I first went in, I had a goal of losing weight (100 lbs), toning and building strength. At my first weigh-in I weighed 311 lbs."

BILLY BRYANT: "My Story starts on November 11, 2010 when I was hit by a rogue wave in Mexico which dislocated my left shoulder, ripped the rotator cuff completely off and caused extensive damage to the bicep and triceps as well as cracked C-6 in my neck. At 52, I found myself facing two shoulder surgeries and three months of physical therapy I still could not life..."
DR. PHIL HOPKINS: "I saw the posting in the gym asking "why have you come to lift at the Rush and how has your trainer helped?"  Here is my story (so far): I have a solid weight lifting background and I hired Kellen Oldham to train me three days a week. THOMAS GLISSON: "I have been a member since January 2008.  I have spent the last 2 years 10 months in your fitness center getting my body in shape.  In March 2005 I weighed 322 lbs and by December 2007 I was down to 172lbs."

JASON MILLER: "Rush should change its name to "Life Saver". I have been on many diets. I have been to a few doctors who have given me medication. However, at the Rush, there is something far better and that is motivation. Before I met Josh Standifer, I had heard horror stories about complexes like the Rush. Being a very obese person like myself, it can be very intimidating..."
GORDON ADKINS: "Back when I joined the Rush in May 2007, I was very much overweight. My health wasnt the best. I weighed 355 pounds at 510 and had to wear overalls and 5XL shirts.  Today I weigh 277 pounds and wear XL shirts. So after my wife went home to be with the Lord in January 07, I retired from a job that I had done for 24 years. A job that I enjoyed doing.  I worked 50-60 hours per week as a truck driver.
DANYELLE BRAZELL: "Four years ago, at seventeen, I was on the cardiac unit in the hospital with two I.V.s in one arm, a blood pressure cuff on the other arm and wires attached to my chest. Four years ago I began a steady decline up the weight scale, but down a winding staircase. Two years later I was diagnosed with an incurable, debilitating disease called interstistial cystitis."

CHRISTINA GLIDDEN: "It is with great pleasure that I commend and bring to your attention, an extraordinary employee of yours, Chris Bearden.  Chris has been my personal trainer since September 29, 2009.  I joined The Rush in 2007 but have only recently become an avid..."
